Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Cupping Therapy Types:
1. Dynamic cupping therapy:
Dynamic cupping, a technique created by Seminars for Health team, is a combination of massage movements, joint movements and the negative pressure created by proper use of the cups. The cup is moved by weak suction along the area of muscle that needs a massage.
2. Static cupping therapy:
Cupping is a technique that will increase circulation to damaged tissues, providing pain relief and improved movement. Cupping can be done in multiple ways, but the techniques used at Upright Athlete Physical Therapy include static and movement based cupping.
